Let's Take the "X" Out of "Christmas"
==========================

Let's take the "X" out of "Christmas" And let's put Christ in again. The day's the birthday of a King, Not that of an unknown man. The tinsel, the glitter, the glamor, The noise of the parties gay Have all but obscured the reason That we celebrate the day. We surely would not write "X-ian" For the Christians here on earth, Then why do many write "X-mas" For the day of the Saviour's birth? It's an honor that really is due Him O'er that to a common man, So let's take "X" out of "Christmas" And let's put Christ in again. ~Cyril W. Wommac~

Amy's Pumpkin Roll Beat 3 eggs on high speed for 5 minutes. Gradually beat in 1 cup white sugar. Stir in 2/3 cup canned pumpkin & 1 tsp. lemon juice. Stir together: 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. ginger 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmug 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder Fold four mixture into pumpkin mixture; spread in jellyroll pan lined with waxed paper. Top with 1/2 c. very finely chopped walnuts or pecans. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Spray paint them gold, glue objects to them, or use glitter to add some pizazz to them. e.. Make paper mache gift bags. Cover a small box with plastic wrap and wrap the paper mache around it. When it is dry, paint it and decorate it with ribbon, glitter, etc. Punch holes in the top for yarn or string for the handles. Give them as a gift or decorate with them. You can do bowls this way, too. f.. Spray paint a thin, leafless tree branch (or branches) white - it should have lots of offshoots and twigs. A while back a friend of mine gave me this poem and I have been using it for an inexpensive gift for teachers and others at Christmas time. I pick up a dozen or two bayberry votive candles and glass votive holders (you can get some for as little as $.59) I tie it up in some nice tulle or a metallic paper and print the poem on the tag I have given it to CCD teachers, gym teachers, librarians and others that have contact with the kids on a regular basis through the year. To me this is a lot easier than baking and give a nice sentiment This Bayberry Candle Comes From A Friend So On Christmas Eve Burn It Down To The End Because A Bayberry Candle Burned To The Socket Will Bring Luck To Your Life And Money To Your Pocket
