1. How can
I get my add-on packs and extra graphic CD's I bought to work
with Version 6.0 ?
- REGARDING THE INSTALLATION
OF V6 AND THE EXTRA CONTENT AND EXTRA GRAPHICS

I have a fresh install of CAC V6 on my new computer and it does
recognize all the extra graphic CD's in the artbook - no problem.
I installed the art and more CD's (the first one and the Art
& More Store 2) and placed my license.dat file in the shared
folder from where everything is installed. Worked perfect the
first time.
- Important to remember:
- You must install the
CAC V6, extra Cd's, and the art and more Cd's all in the Broderbund
folder (default) so CAC can "see" everything. The only
thing does not install by default to broderbund is the art and
more 1 CD (the first one that came with V4), this defaults to
Mindscape. YOU MUST CHANGE IT TO: broderbund/artandmore1 and
install in there. The second Art and More CD will install to
a default of broderbund/artandmore.
- SO: backup your license.dat
file and make sure to install everything in the same place and
it will work perfect. You will find this file in the sub folder
"shared" from where CAC is installed (by default in
broderbund)

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE ART AND MORE CD'S INSTALLED:
- Do nothing. Uninstall
CAC V5. DON'T UNINSTALL THE ART AND MORE CD'S NA DEXTRA ART CD'S!
Install V6 Remember, to the broderbund (default) folder. That's
it. V6 will just see the add on's. No patches, no hassles, no
screaming and hair pulling.
- If you are new to CAC
and Version 5.0 is your last version, the art and more was only
available from Version 4.0 - so you would not be able to get
those CD's and purchase those add on's, they no longer are offering
add on packs. (sorry!) Most of these packs were the same ones
available in Version 3.0 to purchase. They discontinued this
service because so many Friends complained about buying the software
then having to pay more for more content, which was mainly "character"
type content like Garfield. Personally, I liked this idea - but
I guess I was out-numbered.

- 2. How can I install Version
6.0 without uninstalling Version 5.0? The installer tells me
to get rid of Version 5.0 before it allows for the install of
Version 6.0!
- You must uninstall Version
5.0 before installing Version 6.0. Your saved projects will stay
intact - but it is always smart to make a backup copy or move
them JUST IN CASE, same with your address book. Version 6.0 has
all the content of Version 5.0 - so it is unnecessary and a waste
of disk space to have both installed. It also messes up shared
content.
- 3. Can I create a marginless
card in Version 6.0?
- Yes - you can choose
the Avery 3258 photo frame card (4x6) format and your graphic
will print all the way to the left margin and you can just trim
off the top, right and bottom OR you can design your card in
newsletter format (sort of like we used to do in Version 3.0).
