1. HEY!
CAC Version 5.0 is not recognizing the add on packs I bought
from the Art & More store CD's!! What can I do?
- The first batch of CD-ROM's
that went out were unable to read the add on information. A patch
is available here.

look in the download/Software Updates area)

- 2.How
can I install Version 5.0 without uninstalling Version 4.0?
- CAC Friend Lori submitted
these instructions:
- Before I installed CAC
5 I went into Windows Explorer. I then went to my AG CreataCard
folder, (C:\Program Files\Broderbund\AG CreataCard) and renamed
that folder adding a 4 to the end of it. It now reads (C:\Program
Files\Broderbund\AG CreataCard 4).
Then I installed CAC 5 Plat. Everything is in tact, as far as
I can tell so
far, for CAC 4. My only problem was using the shortcuts on the
start menu
and my desktop for CAC 4. If I clicked on one of them it would
open CAC 5.
So, I right clicked each shortcut to CAC 4, including everything
in the
Start Menu's, American Greetings CreataCard 4 folder, (including
the Read
Me, screen saver manager and license agreement. The uninstall
one I'm not
sure about though. It looked different and Starts in the Windows
folder
with reference back to the CAC folder. Don't know if that one
worked or
not). I right clicked each of these things and clicked on Properties.
There is a Target and a Start in line with the path of the program.
I added
the "4" the same way I did to the AG CAC 4 folder name
in windows explorer.
Now when I click on the CAC 4 shortcut, it actually opens CAC
4. So far,
everything seems to be working fine now. I hope it stays that
way...
- If I had thought about
it, it probably would have been a better idea to
change the properties for the Target and Start in paths before
I installed
CAC 5 and make sure everything works.
- I could get to the program
not going through any of this by going through
Windows Explorer and opening up the AG CAC 4 folder and double
clicking on
the AGCCard.EXE file. But I wanted to do it the hard way. LOL
Now when
they get the patch out for CAC 5, I can uninstall CAC 4, hopefully,
without
it uninstalling CAC 5...
- Thanks Lori!! :^)
